It happens! That running dialogue in your head…call it what you will– self talk (positive and/or negative), the voice that whispers in your ear.
God, I can’t hear you?
God, where are you?
God, what are your plans for me…now?
God, are you listening?
God, how do You see me?
God, you want me to do what with whom?
The constant rambling, incessant chatter, talk, talk, talk. When all the talk gets overbearing, it’s hard to hear God. We find ourselves bombarding Him with questions after question, leaving little or no time for Him to answer. It’s in these moments that the red flag goes up! STOP!
Be still, and know that I am God…~Psalm 46:10a
We all enter a specific crossroad, an intersection, that fork in the road where we have to make a decision. What have you resolved to do about your spiritual life this year?
- to reduce by analysis.
- to deal with successfully.
- to make clear or understandable.
- to reach a firm decision about.
…then choose for yourselves this day
whom you will serve…
But as for me and my household,
we will serve the Lord.
–Joshua 24:15 TNIV
